Asian Regional Conference on Effective Local Governance: Accountability, Participation and Inclusion is conceptualised as a multi-stakeholder platform of civil society organisations, academicians, government and donor agencies which engages in critical reflection on strengthening local governance in the region.
CIVICUS
The project helped the IGD and its partners gain new alliance, partnerships and collaborative strategies in the quest for enlarging civic spaces and choices especially at the subnational level, activities secured the role and contribution of former Chief Election Commissioner - Chair of Democracy Election Nepal which is one of the consortium members of the project.
Effective Local Governance
The conference is expected to catalyse a regional coalition of practitioners of local governance, citizen participation and democratic accountability. It is envisaged that such coalition through exchanges of practice based knowledge would strengthen in-country local actions and inform the policy processes on an on-going basis.
Participatory Democracy Conference
This conference is fifth in a series of such conferences held during the previous years jointly by ActionAid Nepal and Institute for Governance and Development (IGD).
Forum For Participatory Democracy
The conference has been creating a platform for deliberations on emerging critical issues of democracy, social justice and democratization in Nepal.
Participation in CA Process
Educating the people about the CA election was an important and appropriate task to assure an increased citizen’s participation in the process.
Public Awareness in Ghandruk of Kaski
Institute for Governance and Development(IGD) aims at promoting initiatives to enhance the rights and entitlement of citizens by increasing their competence to participate in the process of governance and sustainable development. It works to strengthen voice and participation of the citizens in defining their relations with the state. It is also engaged in strengthening local governance where citizens participate in promoting accountability, transparency and effective institutional arrangement to deliver services

Assembly Process in Nepal”. The activities were

-Public Awareness At Lete Mustang
Muktinath & Kagbeni of Mustang
IGD implemented a mini project on Peace Building through agriculture in several Village Development Committees of four districts in the Central Development Region Lalitpur, Dolakha, Sindhuli and Ramechhap. The project consisted of four major tasks to ensure peace dividend to the farmers through community peace building and improved smallscale agricultural infrastructures.
